Error: Word could not parse your query ...(due to apostrophe on a data record)
Error:
Word could not parse your query options into a valid SQL String.
Cause:
There is an apostrophe or question mark in a data source.
Solution:
Use MS Query instead of the Windows SQL search engine (if the data source is in Excel 5.0) or use Smart Quotes in the data source.
To use Smart Quotes do one of the following:
1) If the Word data source has not been created:
a) Select the 'Tools' menu and select 'Options...'.
b) Click the 'AutoFormat' tab.
c) In the 'Replace As You Type' section, select the 'Straight Quotes with Smart Quotes' check box.
d) Click 'OK'.
e) Type the data.
f) Copy the data.
g) Do the query.
1] Place the insertion point where Word is to insert a Microsoft Access table or query.
2] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Database...'.
3] Click 'Get Data'.
4] In the 'Files Of Type' box, select 'MS Access Databases (*.mdb)'.
5] In the 'File Name' box, type the name of the desired database.
6] Click 'OK'.
7] Click 'Query Options' .
8] Select the desired table or query.
9] Click 'OK'.
10] Click 'Insert Data'.
11] Under 'Insert Records', select the records to be inserted into Word.
12] Click 'OK'.
2) If the Word data source has not been created:
a) Open the data source.
b) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'AutoFormat...'.
c) Click 'Options...'.
d) In the 'Replace' section, select the 'Straight Quotes with Smart Quotes' check box.
e) Clear ALL other check boxes.
f) Click 'OK'.
g) Click 'Accept'.
h) Conduct the query.

2] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Database...'.
3] Click 'Get Data'.
4] In the 'Files Of Type' box, select 'MS Access Databases (*.mdb)'.
5] In the 'File Name' box, type the name of the desired database.
6] Click 'OK'.
7] Click 'Query Options' .
8] Select the desired table or query.
9] Click 'OK'.
10] Click 'Insert Data'.
11] Under 'Insert Records', select the records to be inserted into Word.
12] Click 'OK'.
NOTE: If Excel5.0 is installed on the computer, choose to use MS Query instead of the internal Word search engine.
